Psa 139:13 You alone created my inner
being. You knitted me together inside my mother.
Psa 139:14 I will give thanks to you
because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your
works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this.
Psa 139:15 My bones were not hidden
from you when I was being made in secret, when I was being
skillfully woven in an underground workshop.
Psa 139:16 Your eyes saw me when I was
only a fetus. Every day of my life was recorded in your book
before one of them had taken place.
Abortion \A*bor"tion\
([.a]*b[^o]r"sh[u^]n), n. [L. abortio, fr. aboriri. See
Abort.] The act of giving premature birth;
particularly, the expulsion of the human fetus prematurely,
or before it is capable of sustaining life.
This is a difficult subject area for me. On
January 26, 1992 I aborted my child. I did not abort my
child because there was something the matter with
him/her, but because it was "inconvenient" to have a child
at that time.
Did I know it was wrong at the time? You
bet I did. And I used all of the pro-choice excuses to help
me justify this abortion. The top one being "it is just a
piece of flesh, it is not really a baby". Well I am here to
tell you it was a baby and was a baby from the moment he was
conceived.
When do we as the human race determine
death? Usually at the cessation of breathing and heart
activity (this is clinical death, people can be bought back
from clinical death), but TRUE death is when a persons'
brain stops functioning, once the brain ceases to function
then the rest of the body shuts down, since all involuntary
body functions are controlled by the brain. I feel that we
can all agree on this point. Now take this in the other
direction when does a embryo begin to have measurable brain
wave patterns? 6 weeks! Abortions are not allowed until at
least 8 weeks of pregnancy. I was told this by the
abortionist, and when I asked why, they said that was to
make sure they "got it all".
But, I feel that life truly begins at fertilization. At
fertilization, when the sperm and the ovum meet to form a
single cell, a new human life is created. When this
new human life is created I believe that God is there and
this new person is given their portion of Gods' spirit,
which makes man unique to any other living creature on
earth. Human beings are the only living creature which
have a God's holy spirit within us.
All characteristics of each person - sex, eye color, shoe
size, intelligence, etc. are determined at fertilization by
the baby's genetic code in the 46 human chromosomes.
Every person begins as a separate single cell; nothing
new is added but oxygen and nutrition. If the process is not
interrupted, a human being will live about nine months in
the mother's uterus and decades outside it. That person has
never existed before and will never exist again.
Ok that is all good and fine, that is my opinion as to
why abortion is wrong. But now why does God find abortion
to be wrong? The bible verses are listed in

(Gen 1:27
NAB) God
created man in his image; in the divine image he created
him; male and female he created them.
If he created us in his image
and he does not kill then what right do we have to kill?
This includes both the unborn child and the aged adult.
(Exo 20:13
NAB) "You
shall not kill."
This is the most important one!
When you get an abortion you are killing another human being
created in God's image.
(Exo 21:22
NAB) "When
men have a fight and hurt a pregnant woman, so that she
suffers a miscarriage, but no further injury, the guilty
one shall be fined as much as the woman's husband demands of
him, and he shall pay in the presence of the judges."
Why would a man have to pay a
fine? Because the husband has lost a eventual worker (human
life), and must be compensated for the lost wages.
(Psa 127:3
NAB) Children
too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a
reward.
If children are a gift
then how can we destroy that gift?
(Job 31:15
NAB)
Did not he who made me in the womb
make him? Did not the same One fashion us before our birth?
If he fashioned (made) you
before your birth then you must have been human in order for
God to commune with you.
(Psa
139:14-16 NAB) I praise you, so
wonderfully you made me; wonderful are your works! My very
self you knew; my bones were not hidden from you, When I was
being made in secret, fashioned as in the depths of the
earth.
Your eyes foresaw my actions; in your
book all are written down; my days were shaped, before one
came to be.
If our bones are not hidden
from him then he must have known us before we were born.
And he also knew everything that would happen to you, even
your premature death. If you were an aborted child. You
might ask...how can this be? Are you saying that you
believe in predestination? No, what I am saying is that God
is not bound by the constraints of height, weight, depth and
TIME. He can see the beginning from the end because TIME
has no hold on him. If he was held by the physical forces
of our existence then he would not be GOD.
(Jer 1:5 NAB)
Before I formed you in the womb
I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet
to the nations I appointed you.
Jeremiah was a great prophet
for the nation of Israel. And God gave him that job BEFORE
he was born.
Luk 1:41 And it
happened as Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe
leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy
Spirit,
Luk 1:44 For
lo, as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the
babe leaped in my womb for joy.
This baby was
able to leap for joy in the womb and if Elizabeth was filled
with the holy spirit then the child was filled with the
spirit also. The only way to be filled with the holy spirit
is to have a soul and the only way to have a soul is to be
fully human.
One final
note, you will hear voices that sound very reasonable about
why abortion is ok. Trust me I fell for them. Refer to
this verse when you hear these arguments:
(Isa 5:20
NAB) Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil,
who change darkness into light, and light into darkness, who
change bitter into sweet, and sweet into bitter!
