 The Doctrine of Salvation

Salvation is proclaimed in the gospel

Act 28:28  "You must understand that this salvation of God has been sent to the gentiles, and they will listen."

Rom 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God's power for the salvation of everyone who believes, of the Jew first and of the Greek as well.

1Co 15:1  Now I'm making known to you, brothers, the gospel that I proclaimed to you, which you accepted, on which you have taken your stand,

1Co 15:2  and by which you are also being saved if you hold firmly to the message I proclaimed to you-unless, of course, your faith was worthless.

1Co 15:3  For I passed on to you the most important points of what I received: Christ died for our sins in keeping with the Scriptures,

1Co 15:4  he was buried, he was raised on the third day in keeping with the Scriptures-and is still alive!-

Gal 1:9  What we have told you in the past I am now telling you again: If anyone proclaims to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let that person be condemned!

Eph 1:13  You, too, have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed in him you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

Tit 2:11  For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people.

Heb 2:2  For if the message spoken by angels was reliable, and every violation and act of disobedience received its just punishment,

Heb 2:3  how will we escape if we neglect a salvation as great as this? It was first proclaimed by the Lord himself, and then it was confirmed to us by those who heard him,

1Pe 1:8  Though you have not seen him, you love him. And even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,

1Pe 1:9  because you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Rev 7:10  They cried out in a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the lamb!"

Salvation is of God, not of man

Joh 1:12  However, to all who received him, to those believing in his name, he gave authority to become God's children,

Joh 1:13  who were born, not merely in a physical sense, or from a fleshly impulse, or from man's desire, but of God.

Eph 1:13  You, too, have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed in him you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

Salvation is through faith, not works

Rom 3:27  What, then, is there to boast about? That has been eliminated. On what principle? On that of works? No, but on the principle of faith.

Rom 3:28  For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works prescribed by the law.

Rom 9:31  But Israel, who did pursue the righteousness that is based on the law, did not arrive at that law.

Rom 9:32  Why not? Because they did not pursue it on the basis of faith, but as if it were based on works. They stumbled over the stone that causes people to stumble.

Gal 2:16  yet we know that a person is not justified by the works of the law but by the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. We, too, have believed in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law, for no human being will be justified by the works of the law.

Eph 2:8  For by such grace you have been saved through faith. This does not come from you; it is the gift of God

Eph 2:9  and not the result of works, lest anyone boast.

Salvation is by grace, not merit

Rom 3:22  God's righteousness through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction,

Rom 3:23  since all have sinned and continue to fall short of God's glory.

Rom 3:24  By his grace they are justified freely through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

Rom 3:25  whom God offered as a place where atonement by Christ's blood could occur through faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because he had waited patiently to deal with sins committed in the past.

Rom 3:26  He wanted to demonstrate at the present time that he himself is righteous and that he justifies the person who has the faithfulness of Jesus.

Rom 11:6  But if this is by grace, then it is no longer on the basis of works. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.

Salvation rejected is Hell

2Th 1:8  ...He will take revenge on those who do not know God and on those who refuse to obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

2Th 1:9  Such people will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction by being separated from the Lord's presence and from his glorious power
