Welcome to a new chapter for Glorify the Lord!

This ministry first began in 1997, and for 27 years, it has been a digital home for faith at glorifythelord.com. As I step into this new beginning as a blogger, I find my heart drawn to the ultimate source of all new starts: the Word of God. The Bible is a grand narrative filled with stories of fresh starts, second chances, and divine reboots. Today, let’s journey back to the very first book, Genesis, to explore some of the most powerful new beginnings God has orchestrated.

The Ultimate New Beginning: Creation

The Bible opens with the most profound new beginning of all: “In the beginning, God created the universe”. The sources describe an earth that was initially "unformed and desolate," with darkness covering the ocean depths. Into this chaos, God spoke, and a new reality began. He said, “Let there be light!” and light appeared. This was the first day of a grand start, where God separated light from darkness, calling them “day” and “night”.Over the following days, God continued to bring order and life into being. He created a canopy He called "sky" to separate the waters. He gathered the waters into one place to let dry ground, which He called "land," appear. This new world was not empty; God filled it with vegetation, seed-bearing plants, and fruit trees. He then fashioned great lights in the sky to distinguish day from night and to act as signs for seasons, days, and years. The oceans were filled with living creatures, and birds were made to fly above the earth. Finally, God created every kind of living creature on the land and culminated His work by making mankind in His own image. He blessed these first humans, giving them a purpose and a beginning as masters of the earth.

This foundational story reminds us that
our God is a God of newness, capable of creating beauty, order, and purpose out of any void.
